Molybdenum Oxide:
Molybdenum oxide is a chemical compound consisting of the element molybdenum (Mo) and oxygen. The most common form is molybdenum trioxide (MoO₃). This material is typically observed as yellowish-green or pale yellowish-white in color. Molybdenum oxide is a stable inorganic compound with good thermal resistance. It is used as a raw material for the production of molybdenum metal and its alloys. This compound has wide applications in the steel industry, catalysts, and chemical materials. Its main characteristics are high purity, chemical stability, and significant industrial importance. Molybdenum oxide is used as a catalyst in alcohol dehydrogenation, hydrocarbon reforming, and biodiesel production. Thin molybdenum nano-layers can be produced by reducing MoO₂ deposited on graphite. Molybdenum oxide has also been proposed as a potential anode material for lithium-ion batteries.
