Terrestrial telecommunication cables have a strong cover to protect the cable against rain and sunlight. These cables are usually black in color and due to the resistant coating, they have little bending ability and are more fragile.

Application:

They are used outside the building for installation in local telephone networks and underground, inside a pipe or channel. Installation of these cables in environments where there is a possibility of fire is not allowed without preventive protective measures.
