Trade between Iran-U.S. stands at $33.4m in 8 months

TEHRAN – The value of trade between Iran and the U.S. stood at $33.4 million in the first eight months of 2023, registering a one percent rise compared to the previous year’s same period, IRNA reported citing the latest statistics released by the American Statistical Association (ASA).

The trade between the two countries was reported to be over $33 billion in the same period of 2022.

According to the ASA data, the U.S. exported commodities worth $32.7 million to Iran in the first eight months of the current year, up 17 percent year on year. The U.S. had exported $27.9 million of non-oil goods to Iran in January-August 2022.

Iran’s exports to the U.S., however, decreased by 86 percent to stand at $700,000 during the mentioned period.

The Islamic Republic exported $5.1 million worth of commodities to the U.S. in the first eight months of 2022.
